The Aftermath

The trauma I have lived through seems to be over.
It’s not forgotten, but I don’t feel it anymore.
I still live everyday as two different men.
I've come to accept that's how it may always be.
The new word in my vocabulary is, integration.
I still don’t always recognize which of the two men I am.
My wife can see the difference.
I can see them clearly when she points them out.
There's still so much for both of us to learn.
